Moonstar stood atop the Great Boulder, looking down at Bluemoon, eyes shining with pride for her first friend. You're doing great, she thought as she watched him organize the patrols for the day. She remembered why she had walked up there in the first place, and raised her voice.
"Cats of HawkClan! I have an announcement to make! Starshine is going to have Rockmelt's kits."
The clan was loud with the sound of purring. The apprentices pranced around the clearing. "More kits! More kits!" As Moonstar's gaze swept around the camp, she noticed Rainfall sitting in the corner with Snowfeather, their pelts pressed close together, tails entwined.
Oh, why did StarClan make me leader? Moonstar thought to herself in her mind. I have better things to do than lead the clan.... Shaking her head to clear herself of her thoughts, the leader padded away, head down, eyes wistful for the one cat that she had loved all this time. Bluemoon....

Starshine thanked Ripplestep. Then tried to make her way to Rockmelt through the crowds of cats.

Rainfall murmured to Snowfeather, "So.... Want to go out hunting with me?"

ReplyDelete"Lets go then!" with that, Rainfall ran out calling, "I bet you can't catch me!"
ReplyDeleteBluepaw padded over to Willowpaw. "Hi," she meowed. "Do you feel like hunting? I'll see if Russetpaw wants to hunt, as well."
ReplyDeleteIvypaw watched Moonstar's eyes, and snorted in derision. Sure, she might be regarded as stupid and inferior in this clan, but she wasn't and idiot. She knew about Moonstar and Bluemoon- she wondered if Oyxpaw knew too. But eventually, the clan would have to find out...
ReplyDeleteOnyxpaw looked sideway ad Goldenpaw and gave her a little smile before looking back up at the stars. His first friend, butnot his first love, surely? He was just an apprentice. He wouldn't think about this now.
Goldenpaw looked over at Onyxpaw, eyes full of worry. "Are you allright?" she asked. "You have a strange look on your face...."
ReplyDeleteOnyxpaw cleared his head and gave her a friendly smile. "Nah, I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me." He gave her a little playful nudge and curled his tail around his paws. "So how's your day so far?"
ReplyDeleteGoldenpaw shrugged, eyes shining happily. "Not much has happened," she said. "So I'm not really sure what to tell you."
ReplyDeleteOnyxpaw laughed. "Yeah, guess so. We'll, you wanna go hunting with me? I'll ask Snowheart and see if we're allowed. Do you think Moonstar would be okay with you going?"
ReplyDeleteGoldenpaw shrugged again. "I'll go ask her!" she said, dashing off to find the leader.
ReplyDeleteOnyxpaw raced after her, and bumped into Snowheart. "Oh, hi! Um, I was wondering. Is it okay if I go out hunting with Goldenpaw? I know I'm a little new but maybe with Goldenpaw we'd be okay."
ReplyDeleteSnowheart thought for a moment. "OK," he said slowly. "But don't stray too far from the camp!"
ReplyDeleteGoldenpaw bounded back. "Moonstar says I can go!" she announced.
Onyxpaw smiled widely. "Alright. Come on, let's go!" He sped towards the camp entrance.
