HawkClan has never had an epidemic before. Let's try it out!

Ripplestep woke up to the sound of coughing. She quickly rushed outside of her den, though it was just past midnight, and she was very tired from gathering herbs during the day. Her eyes widened as she saw Bluemoon almost dragging himself out of the warrior's den, his body shaking with coughs. The gray medicine cat quickly rushed over to him, eyes filled with worry.
"Are you alright?" she asked, checking his sickened state.
"I-I'm fine," the deputy replied between coughs in a raspy voice.
"You're not OK!" Ripplestep exclaimed, guiding him to the medicine cat's den. "Quick, come to my den so that I can give you some herbs, hopefully you'll be OK before morning..."
But as dawn approached, the sounds of the blue cat's coughing only became louder, and Ripplestep prayed to StarClan silently in her nest. "Please don't let the rest of the clan get it...."
Yes, it was each clan's worst nightmare: white cough.

Of course, the spread of white cough was inevitable. The next morning, Ripplestep walked out of the medicine cat's den with Plumpaw, only to hear the sound of more coughing. "Plumpaw," she said, speaking to her apprentice. "Go round up the coughing cats. All we can do now is to give them herbs, and beg StarClan for their recovery. Now go, while I prepare the herbs!"

Poppykit moved closer to her littermates.

ReplyDelete"Sunkit!" Poppykit protested sleepily when she heard him mewling.
Sunkit sleepily opened one eye. "What?" he asked, his voice slurred by sleep.
ReplyDeleteRIpplestep started pacing anxiously around. She had no clue what would happen next so she couldn't get ready for anything. She knew that whitecough could quickly turn into greencough.... She just hoped that there was a way HawkClan would be rid of this sickness soon....
ReplyDelete"Be quiet," Poppykit grumbled and rolled onto her back, her four small paws hanging in the air.

ReplyDelete(Can Bluemoon be sick? Well he's kinda sick already so yeah. I think Firleaf could be too.)
ReplyDeletePlumpaw was frantically running around camp, with a mouthful of herbs to give to the cats. Bluemoon was in the medicine cat's den resting and soon fell asleep.
Firleaf dragged himself out of the medicine den, coughing. Plumpaw saw him and rushed to the rescue, stuffing herbs into his paws to eat.
Moonstar poked her head out of the den, just as Rockmelt's tail disappeared into the medicine cat's den. "Is everything OK?" she asked, padding up to Ripplestep slowly.

ReplyDeleteStarshine listened to the clan coughing worry crept over her. She curled her tail protectfuly as if it will keep the sickness away.
Dawnkit heard her siblings quarrel and tried to keep her annoying cough quiet but every now and then one escaped.
Mistykit coughed quietly but continued sleeping. She ignored Sunkit and Poppykit's bickering.
ReplyDelete"About what?" Poppykit asked her brother.
"I don't remember," Sunkit replied. "But I'm scared..." he dragged himself closer to his mother and littermates.
ReplyDeletePoppykit licked the top of her brother's head and curled up closer to him. "Don't be scared," She meowed.
ReplyDeleteSunkit nodded. "I'm fine now," he said. "You can go back to sleep if you want."
ReplyDeletePoppykit nodded and with a yawn, quickly fell asleep.
ReplyDeleteDawnkit couldn't take it anymore. Each time she tried to stop a cough her small body buckled madly. She needed to let it out.
ReplyDeleteOpening her small mouth she let the coughs out. First it was one or two at a time but as the coughs realized that Dawnkit wasn't holding them back anymore, they stampeded out.
Starshine's head shot to her kit. At once she saw how badly Dawnkit was coughing, Starshine gave a quick "stay here" mew to Poppykit, Sunkit and Nightkit.
She then grabbed Dawnkit by the scarf of her neck and walked as quickly as she could to the medcat's den trying with all her might not to make Dawnkit cough more.
Poppykit was awoken by her mother. "Will I ever get any rest?" Shy mumbled and rolled over.

(sorry i didnt reply :P didnt hv tons of time) Ripplestep meowed, "Moonstar, I think we have an infection of white cough in the camp... You know how easily it can turn into green cough.. We need to get all of the sick cats in the med cat den and make sure the others don't got near them. Can you handle that? Because I need to go out to collect catnip and catmint. Plumpaw can stay and go to him for help if needed. By the way, can I take a few warriors with me? Because if I find a huge supply, I'm going to need help carrying it back here."
ReplyDeleteMoonstar nodded and her eyes scanned the clearing for cats that weren't coughing. "Rockmelt! Aspentail! Blackash!" The three warriors scampered forward and stood in front of the leader. "I want you to go with Ripplestep to collect some herbs. We'll need more than usual; there's a supposed outbreak of white cough in the camp."
ReplyDeleteRipplestep nodded at the warriors and said, "Lets go before the infection will keep on spreading." With that, she bounded out of the camp entrance.
ReplyDeleteLionfang woke up. He stretched, and walked outside, looking around the clearing. Then, he started coughing violently. He tried to stop, but he couldn't. Finally, gasping for breath, he stopped. 'Oh no! I might have white cough!' he thought frantically. 'I'd better go see Ripplestep!' (He lives, but he nearly dies)
ReplyDeleteAfter running for a few minutes, they finally came to a clearing. Ripplestep sniff around to see if there was any catnip or catmint. Her eyes widened and she hissed, "This way." They finally came to a clump of catnip. Ripplestep said, "Pick the ones that have fully grown. Remember to leave some so that I will have some for next year."
ReplyDeleteEven though he had white cough, Lionfang couldn't stop pacing outside the nursery. he knew he shouldn't, but he was SO worried.

ReplyDeleteStarshine let Dawnkit down gently in one of the free moss nets.
'Great my first kit's and one of them already is sick.' Starshine mentally scowled herself.
She tried to give Dawnkit some comforting licks back each time she tried. Dawnkit coughed hitting Starshine's nose.
Mainly from protests of her nose she stopped and instead curled up ageist Dawnkit.
Well Dawnkit wasn't really thinking anything like. 'Stop it ma.' Or. 'I want to go back to the nursery.' No she was thinking somethings on the lines of. 'Stop it cough! I'm warning you! If you don't i'm gonna bite my tail! You wouldn't want that would you? Would you? 'AAAHHHHH STOP COUGHING!'
Ripplestep ran back in with a bundle of catnip in her mouth. She quickly gave a few leaves to Starshine and said, "Let Dawnkit chew a few of these leaves. It will help her." With that, she continued giving the catnip to all of the cats in the medicine cat den.
ReplyDeletePlumpaw ran around camp frantically, not knowing what to do. He gave herbs to anyone he saw who was coughing. Aspentail rushed in with a bundle of catnip in her mouth.
ReplyDeleteRipplestep finally took a moment to sit down and tried thinking properly. What could have started the outbreak? Could it be one of the dens wasn't patched up enough.... Then she heard the sound of dripping water... Could it be..?
ReplyDeleteRockmelt and Blackash both padded back into the camp as well, jaws full of what catmint they could gather. The padded over to the medicine cat's den, setting the herbs gently down on the ground. "Ripplestep!" Blackash called. "Rockmelt and I brought the rest of the catmint!"
ReplyDelete"Thanks a lot!" She quickly snatched up the catmint and quickly distributed part of it and put the rest in her medicine cat den. She kept on running around trying to help everycat. She called the Plumpaw and said, "Can you make sure no other cats get sick?"
