The cats of HawkClan raised their heads as they spotted Chillingheart walking in from a hunting patrol, a she cat and two kits bounding at his heels. Bluemoon padded over to the head warrior. "Who are these cats? Did you come across them in the forest?"
The dark tom nodded. "They were living inside a hollow tree," he explained. "Better here than there, you know?" Chillingheart proceeded to take the cats to Moonstar's den, where he explained to the leader of HawkClan about the cats.

"Cats of HawkClan!" Moonstar's voice could be heard all around the camp. "Today we have three new cats joining us!" As the clan's cheers died down, she continued. "Ice, Badger and Ginger, please step up to the Great Boulder." The three cats slowly stalked up, eyes full of determination and seriousness, except for Ginger's who were playful and sparkling as ever. "Ice, do you promise to become a loyal warrior and queen of HawkClan, and serve it at any cost?"
"Yes," the she-cat replied, looking up at the noble leader.
"Then by the powers of DreamClan, I give you your warrior name. You will be known as Icepool from now on."
"Ginger and Badger, do you swear to become part of HawkClan and defend it as much as you can when you become proud warriors of it?"
"Yes," the two kits said, eyes sparkling, filled with determination.
"From now on until you receive your apprentice names, you will be known as Badgerkit and Gingerkit. May DreamClan light your paths forever."
"Icepool! Badgerkit! Gingerkit! Icepool! Badgerkit! Gingerkit!" The clan's yowls drowned out the sound of the winde blowing through the mountains, and were carried up to the ranks of DreamClan....

Icepool smiled to Moonstar, before grabbing Gingerkit's scruff as she leaped atop of Badgerkit.
ReplyDelete"Be careful. Even if these cats seem nice...foxes could be anywhere," she advised them, placing Gingerkit back on the floor.
Badgerkit let out a soft mew in response.
Dawnkit raced up to Gingerkit. "Wanna play, wanna play, wanna play" she asked and asked as she bounced around the kit.
ReplyDeleteStarshine chuckled and walked up to Icepool "kits will be kits" she meowed. "I'm Starshine, you will be sharing a den with me." Starshine greeted cheerfully.
Gingerkit grinned. "Yeah! What game?" she asked, getting into a playful crouch and lashing her tail.
ReplyDeleteIcepool grinned. "I suppose. I just hope Gingerkit and Badgerkit don't become any problems." she laughed, her tail curling over her paws.
Whitekit and Mistykit bounded over to the new kits. "Hello!" Whitekit meowed.
ReplyDeletePoppykit lingered near the edge as she saw her sister, Dawnkit as she asked the new kits to play.
Moonstar smiled. HawkClan was blessed to have so many new kits. Blackash padded up to the new queen, Diamondsky right behind them. "Hello!" he greeted.
ReplyDeleteSunkit tumbled out of the nursery and saw the new kits. "Hi!" he squeaked, dashing over to them.
Ripplestep padded out of the medicine cat den and meowed, "Welcome! If you have any injuries, you can come here and me and Plumpaw and help u sort them out!"

Dawnkit thought for a moment "I know how about Hunters!" She mewed. "You guys can be the prey go hide and I will wait here then try to find you!" Dawnkit squeaked. "Poppykit,Whitekit, Mistykit and Sunkit came play" She called to them.
ReplyDelete"Im sure they wont be any trouble it will be fun having so many kits around" Starshine said happily.
Icepool smiled, her ears flicking. "Of course. I just hope Badgerkit isn't a downer for them.." Icepool sighed, looking at her son who was watching the other kits and Gingerkit playing.
ReplyDeleteGingerkit leaped in the air. "Yeah!" she meowed.
"Hmm let me see about that" Starshone mowed then she padded up to Badgerkit. "Badgerkit Whats wrong? Why dont you go play with the other kits? She asked gently.
ReplyDelete"OK go hide" Dawnkit called and covered her eyes with her paws.
Icepool sighed, looking at Starshine as she padded to Badgerkit.
ReplyDeleteBadgerkit wedged further into his corner. "I just don't want to..." he grumbled.
Gingerkit nodded vigorusly. Turning around, the ginger she-kit bolted silently to the Warriors den, before finding a small hole where she could fit through. Wedging inside, she hid, her ginger tabby fur barely visible.
"Why?" Starshine asked determent.
ReplyDeleteDawnkit waited a while then stood up looking for places where the kits mite hide seeing nothing she sniffed the air HA Gingerkit Dawnkit thought and quickly followed it to the warriors den ppeeeww it stinks in here she thought she walked around tring to find Gingerkit she passed the place Gingerkit was hiding not seeing her.
Badgerkit shrugged. "They like to play games that I don't like. I'm more of a loner, I guess..." he muttered.
ReplyDeleteGingerkit snugged deeper into her hiding place, her eyes narrowing.
"Fair enough " Starshine said. "Fair enough."
ReplyDeleteDawnkit stopped in her tracks she herd something... She turned and Jumped into... A warriors nest. She looked all around sighing she gave the nest up and went to the far corner of the den.
Badgerkit mumbled underneath his breath as Starshine turned around.

Dawnkit looked around one more time and saw something white. She purred softly she quickly padded towards it and run then raced and landed on Gingerkit. "Caught you!" She mowed.

ReplyDeletePoppykit flattened her ears when she heard Whitekit. It wasn't her fault she was born such an unsociable kit. She didn't mind not talking to anyone, though she hated when she was ridiculed by the other kits.
"Whitekit, that's not nice!" Mistykit swatted at her brother than bounded over to Gingerkit and Dawnkit, Whitekit behind her.
Dawnkit snarled when she heard Whitekit. "Whitekit say your sorry to Poppykit!" Dawnkit snarled defending her sister.

ReplyDelete"Thanks" Dawnkit beamed "Wanna play?" She asked like nothing happened.
ReplyDelete"Sure," Whitekit meowed half-heartedly, while Mistykit agreed.
ReplyDeletePoppykit lingered by herself. Since his smart remark she didn't have the slightest interest in playing with Whitekit.
"I chose the last game you can choose one now if you want" Dawnkit asked Mistykit.
ReplyDeleteMistykit thought for a moment. "I don't know any games." When she was with her mother, they didn't have time to play games, and she wasn't allowed to socialize with other kits.

Sleetkit shrugged. "Like this?" He leaped over his sister, using his front paws to propel himself off of her. With an exasperated "Oof," Mistykit was flattened to the ground with Sleetkit grinning on the other side of her.
"I wasn't ready!" Mistykit protested as she shook her now dusty-white pelt.

ReplyDelete"Okay!" Sleetkit bounded off to hide behind the nursery. Surely no one will find me here! He thought with pride and he squeezed through the narrow brambles and sat on a patch of soft ferns.
Mistykit smiled and ran off. She headed for the leader's den but thought better. I don't want to get in trouble!
She swerved to the direction of the medicine cat's den and made her way though a small crack that had many diffferent, strange scents wafting through. She managed to avoid stepping on the herbs and sat at the back of the herb store. She than remembered she hadn't eat and her stomach growled hungerily. A herb, she didn't know what, rolled towards her and her stomach growled more. Surely one won't hurt! She thought and swallowed the berry.

Dawnkit opened her eyes and went off searching. After a long while she saw Whitekits fur sticking out from from ferns and run up and pounced on him "got you!" she shouted.
(Ssshhh! I keep getting Sleetkit and Whitekit mixed up since I always have a Sleetkit with a Mistykit and I've never played a Whitekit before, and Whitekit isn't behind ferns, he's behind brambles behind the nursery XD)

ReplyDeleteNightkit was watching the kits with hidden derision. Why play silly games like that when you could do the real thing? Oh, how he longed to be an apprentice. He would be the best warrior the clan would ever have seen! Just then, he felt a tail flick his shoulder and he looked up. "What're you thinking about, with that stupid look on your face?" Ivypaw asked him, amusement glinting in her eyes.
"Nothing," he snapped, then felt bad. "Sorry. I just can't wait to be an apprentice. I don't wanna be stuck here forever."
"You'll be one soon, I promise," Ivypaw assured him, catching his mother Starshine's eye and giving her a look that said "kits will be kits".

Starshine smiled then nodded she was glad that Nightkit wanted to severs his clan already.
ReplyDeleteNightkit sighed impatiently before sensing a gaze on him. Pricking his ears, the young cat looked around and saw his mother smiling at him. Nightkit twitched his tail slightly in curiosity and looked back around. A minute passed, and the tabby tom looked up at Ivypaw again. "Could you show me some battle moves?" He asked the apprentice.
ReplyDeleteIvypaw, disregarding the fact that kits weren't supposed to learn yet, nodded. She didn't see anything wrong with satisfying an eager kit's inquisitive and enthusiastic mind. In fact, Ivypaw thought that it was the best thing to do. "Sure. I'll show you how to fight a rogue cat," she said. It was pretty advanced for a cat who was not even an apprentice, but Ivypaw had already taught him some stuff an believed that he was up for more complicated moves.
(I really don't know how to interact with the other cats so...)
Dawnkit kept looking for Mistykit but couldn't find her. After a long while she gave up and started to call her but still she didnt come. When it was sun high she began to worry.
ReplyDelete"Mummy Mummy! I cant find Mistykit!" She told Starshine. "I thought you were playing hunters? That means you have to look for them" Starshine replied. "Yes we started to play this morning and I gave up and called fir her AND i still can't find her!" Dawnkit said annoyed. Getting the panic in Dawnkits voice Starshine said "Ok I look for her" And went off she spotted Ivypaw "Have you seen Mistypaw?" She asked.
Ivypaw shook her head. "No. Why? Has she run off again?" Nightkit looked up from the battle move he was doing. "What do you mean? Mistykit's run away?"
ReplyDeleteIvypaw rolled her eyes. "No, mousebrain. She probably just went off by herself without telling her parents. Kits do that, you know, and worry their mothers." She gave Nightkit a meaningful look, which he returned with a glare.
"All right then guss we have to for her to reappear" Starshine said.

ReplyDeleteMistykit was laying in the medicine cat's den. She heard her friends calling her but she didn't dare move. Her stomach would send another violent shock through her body. She tightened her eyes in pain. She shouldn't have ate that herb.
Whitekit frowned. He didn't have a clue where his sister would be hiding.
"I seen her head into the medicine cat's den," Poppykit meowed.
Dawnkit pricked up her ears at that. "Really Poppykit!? Oh thank you thank you." Dawnkit mewed then raced off full speed to the Med cat's den she scrandled all about looking here then there finally she saw Mistykit in the back of the herb store. "Mistykit! Are you alright?!?!?" She asked worriedly.

ReplyDeleteStormsky was padding out of the warriors' den when she heard and saw the commotion in the medicine cat den. Where was Ripplestep when you needed her? With a cross little sigh, the blue-gray tabby warrior padded towards the den. "What's going on here?" She demanded, seeing the kits. "You should know never to go inside the medicine cat's den! Dawnkit, go fetch Starshine!" Stormsky swept Whitekit out of the way and frowned down at Mistykit, her limited knowledge of herbs racing through her head. Then, she remembered: Her mother had once told her that yarrow made you sick if you ate too much of it. Some medicine cats forced their poisoned patients to eat it and throw up the poison inside their bodies, like the famous Cinderpelt had in the legendary ThunderClan, in Firestar's era. That must have been it. But, with a sickening feeling that must have been alike to what Mistykit was feeling right now, Stormsky realized that though she knew what the problem was, she had no idea how to fix it.
(oh yeah, watermint is probably the best idea for this, because it is a great cure for bellyache. And stinging nettle expels poison in a cat's body, so logically, it should also get rid of any inferior substance that is unknown to the system of the sick cat, through excretion. That'd be a good idea, too. Stormsky or someone else should eventually realize this, I think. Or if Ripplestep came back.)

ReplyDeleteDawnkit nodded her head and raced off to Starshine. "Mother! I found MIstykit and she ate something in the Med Cat's den please come!" She squealed. "Alright Im coming" Starshine said and raced off towards it. " Stormsky is there anything I could do to help?" She asked.
Mistykit groaned and tried to lift her head up when she saw Stormsky but she was tired and her stomach hurt.

Stormsky's mind was racing. "Expelling substances... what expels substances? And bellyache... comfrey? No, that's broken bones..." she muttered to herself, pacing. Suddenly, and idea lit up her mind. "Of course!" Stormsky hurried around the den, looking for the herbs she had thought of. She grabbed some watermint and the last of the stinging nettle, and hurried back to Mistykit. "Okay, you have to eat these two, okay? Nothing else. You must eat it with an empty stomach, otherwise you'll... expel the wrong substances. Eat it, and go to the dirt tunnel." Stormsky's tail was flicking around in nervousness. What if something went wrong?
ReplyDeleteMistykit looked at the herbs with caution. She trusted Stormsky, she wouldn't feed her anything that would bring harm. She ate them reluctantly and stuck her tounge out with distain and stood up on weak legs.
ReplyDeleteShe began her long trekk to the dirt place. Her tail hang limply behind her and her head low. I won't ever go in the medicine cat's den again!
Whitekit watched his sister leave and looked at Stormsky with his big blue eyes. "She's going to be okay, right?"
Poppykit looked after Mistykit as she disappeared into the dirt tunnel.
Stormsky hesitated, and instead of the "She should be" that she was going to say, the tabby warrior settled with a "Yes. She will be." Now that she thought it over, Stormsky began to calm down. The herbs would most likely work, if they weren't old or stale. She had thought that she gave too little of the stinging nettle- the usual dose was four seeds instead of two- but it was actually the right thing to do. Mistykit was just a kit. Four seeds would have been too much for her, and could have damaged her system further. With a sigh of relief, Stormsky was content that Mistykit would be fine.
ReplyDeleteMistykit padded back from the dirt tunnel. She felt better but her stomach was still queasy and she felt tired. She made her way to Stormsky, Dawnkit, and Whitekit. "I feel better than a few moments ago," Mistykit squeaked.
ReplyDeleteWhitekit let out a breath of relief. "Why did you eat something out of the medicine cat's den anyways?"
Stormsky looked down at Mistykit, ignoring her brother. Now was for the reprimanding. She began talking to the kit with a firm and stern voice. "What you ate in the medicine cat den was called yarrow, and makes you sick if you eat too much. You should know to never go inside a den that is not yours and make yourself at home. In the case of any other den, that's called being impolite. In the case of the medicine cat den, it's called being impolite, and risking your very life. There are herbs in there that can be extremely dangerous if misused. You should never eat something unless you're certain it's safe. Nobody here would appreciate it much if you were to get hurt on your own accord, would we? Now I'm sure you know what you did was wrong. Do you understand?" Stormsky stopped herself from sighing in relief. She didn't like giving lectures any more than anyone else did.

ReplyDelete"Good. Now remember it." Stormsky gave Whitekit a nod. "And make sure she doesn't do it again." The female warrior turned and headed towards Starshine.

ReplyDelete"I'll make sure she doesn't," Whitekit added and received and half-hearted swipe from Mistykit. "I can watch over myself," She meowed.
Stormsky heard the protestation from Mistykit as she padded away, and smiled slightly. At least she still had some spirit.

ReplyDeleteStormsky glanced down at Sleetkit. "I might know about herbs, but that's just because my mother was the Healer from the Tribe where Chillingheart and I came from. I used to be Storm Where the Wind Blows, and Chillingheart used to be Chill That Comes With the Snow. But I was training to be a prey-hunter, and being a Healer or medicine cat was not my destiny. It's Ripplestep and Plumpaw's."

ReplyDeleteStormsky realized that such a young kit born from a clan wouldn't understand about the Tribes. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't think that you wouldn't know about my... heritage."
ReplyDelete"Can I know now?" Whitekit asked. Mistykit nodded in agreement. She wanetd to hear about where Stormsky came from.
ReplyDeleteStormsky paused, and then sighed. "All right. I'll make it short. Well, Chillingheart and I were born in a Tribe, the Tribe of Misty Clouds, in the Mountains. It was essentially a Clan, but there were some differences. The leader was both a leader and a medicine cat, and there were two types of warriors. One was a prey-hunter, who hunted prey for the Tribe, and a cave-guard, who kept the cats of the Tribe safe. I was training to be a prey-hunter as a to-be, which is what you call an apprentice, and Chillingheart was training to be a cave-guard. After a while, we left, not long after we became full "warriors". After a moon or two of travelling we came to HawkClan." Stormsky finished briefly, not including the reason why they left.
ReplyDelete"It sounds weird, to-bes? That's an odd name," Whitekit meowed. "I want to be a to-be!" He added.
ReplyDeleteMistykit rolled her eyes. "I think I'd be a to-be prey hunter," She meowed.
Stormsky smiled- it was the equivalent to a laugh for a silent and calm cat like her. "It wouldn't matter here, you know, since a warrior does both hunting and guarding. Though you'd be a good prey-hunter, Mistykit. You've got powerful back legs, and that's bound to be useful when you're leaping after eagles and hawks." At the weird looks from the kits, Stormsky added as an explanation: "The Tribes hunt birds as prey for food, using our usual prey like mice and voles for bait." She actually giggled a bit at the kits' gawking expressions.
ReplyDeleteWhitekit listened. He was interested in the Tribe life. "Will you be my mentor when I'm apprenticed?" Whitekit asked hopefully.
ReplyDeleteMistykit rolled her eyes, clearly feeling better she swiped at her brother.
Stormsky smiled at him. "It's not my choice, you know. Moonstar gets to choose who mentors who. And it also depends on whether Stormpaw's become a warrior yet, though it should be soon," she added as an afterthought, sitting with her tail curled over her paws.
ReplyDelete"Cool!" Whitekit meowed excitedly, not even paying attention that he may or may not become Stormsky's apprentice, only that is was a possibility.

ReplyDeleteStormsky looked back at the nursery, then at Mistykit and Whitekit. "Right, why don't you two get some fresh-kill for the queens, and then go back to the nursery?" And I need to go hunting, she added to herself.
ReplyDelete"Okay!" Whitekit meowed and spun around, racing to the freshkill pile, his kitten fur still puffing up around his cheeks as he grinned.
ReplyDeleteMistykit lagged behind him as she quietly made her way to the freshkll pile. Together they hauled a rabbit to the queens.
Stormsky stared after them for a second before turning and disappearing out of the entrance tunnel.

ReplyDelete[Well we already had a fox/badger/dog attack. What about something with tow legs. Or what happened after the earthshaking. Or gang of kittypets.. A lion coming to camp!!!! Like it escaped from a zoo and we have to hide it? Or we could do that with other animals like tiger, elephant, hippo. Or a huge wild boar threatens camp? And ever we save it or slay it.]
