A breeze blew through the hollow, making every cat shiver. Ripplestep had her ears perked. Sparrowpaw looked up at her mentor. "R-Ripplestep?" she squeaked. Ripplestep looked down at the small cat. "It's a prophecy," she whispered. "Didn't you hear it?" When Sparrowpaw shook her head, Ripplestep bent down to her. "It doesn't matter," she said. "We need to cancel our trip to the Star Pool."
In the leader's den, Ripplestep, Moonstar and Sparrowpaw all sat across from each other. Ripplestep looked at Moonstar.
"There's been a message from StarClan. A prophecy."
Moonstar narrowed her eyes and Sparrowpaw looked up at Ripplestep in wonder.
"The hawk of the sky must join with the epic lasers of the city." (Please don't laugh.)
Moonstar looked at Ripplestep. "What do you think that means?" she asked. "Join to do what?"
Ripplestep shook her head. "I don't know," she said. "But I think they meant the cats from UrbanClan..."

"Sparrowpaw and Moonstar, we must get to the to where ever the UrbanClan cats worship their ancestors or go straight to the Starpool anyway so I can communicate with them!" Ripplestep said quickly.
ReplyDeleteMoonstar nodded. "Sparrowpaw," she said. "You stay here and inform the others of what's going on. I'll accompany Ripplestep to the Starpool." The two cats raced away.

ReplyDeleteDarkflame flicked his tail skeptically as he watched Ripplestep and Moonstar race away. "UrbanClan, huh?" He muttered as he narrowed his eyes. Whatever.

ReplyDeleteSpiritpaw was confused. Urbanclan? What does urban mean? Spiritpaw shook her head, and noticed Darkflame's expression. "What does "urban" mean?" Spiritpaw asked, pronouncing urban as though it was an alien word.

Blackash padded out of the warrior's den. "Urban relates to twolegs, doesn't it?" he asked with a yawn.
ReplyDelete"Yes.. It does... But the cats we are going to meet have NOTHING to do with the twolegs." Ripplestep said slowly.
ReplyDeleteDarkflame glanced at Spiritpaw. "Urban, in the UrbanClan context, means futuristic or technological." He gave his apprentice a look. "Don't ask me why I know that, please."
